In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

bis.mi Allahi (a)l.rraH.maEni (a)lrraHiy.mi

(O Prophet,) glorify the name of your Lord, the Highest.

sabbiHi (a)is.ma rabbika (a)lAa`.laYE

Who created and proportioned.

(a)lladhiy khalaqa fasawwaYE

Who set a destiny and showed the way.

wa(a)lladhiy qaddara fahadaYE

Who caused vegetation to grow,

wa(a)lladhiy~ _akhraja (a)l.mar`aYE

then reduced it to black rubbish.

faja`alahU ghuthaA~?(an) _aH.waYE

We shall enable you to recite; then you shall not forget

sanuq.riYeuka falaA tansaYE~

except what Allah wills. He knows what is open and also what is hidden.

AillaA maA shaA~_ea Allahu [j] AinnahU ya`lamu (a)l.jahra wamaA yakhfaYE

And We give you the facility of the easy way;

wanuyassiruka lilyusraYE

therefore, admonish them if admonition be profitable.

fadhakkir. _in. nnafa`ati (a)ldhdhik.raYE

He who fears will accept the admonition,

sayadhdhakkaru man. yakh.shaYE

and it will be shunned by the most wretched one,

wayatajannabuhaA~ (a)l._ash.qaY

who shall enter the Great Fire,

(a)lladhiy yaS.laY (a)lnnaAra (a)l.kub.raYE

wherein he shall neither die nor live.

thumma laA yamuwtu fiyhaA walaA yaHyaYE

Truly successful was he who purified himself,

qad. Aeaf.laHa man. tazakkaYE

and remembered the name of his Lord, then prayed.

wadhakara (a)s.ma rabbihI faSallaYE

But you (O men,) prefer the life of this world,

bal. tuwe.thiruwna (a)l.HayaEw(t)a (a)lddun.yaA

although the Hereafter is better and more lasting.

wa(a)l._akhira(t)u khay.r(un) wa_ab.qaYE

The same had been said in the former Books,

Aeinna haEdhaA lafiy (a)lSSuHufi (a)l.AeuwlaYE

the Books of Abraham and Moses.
